HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS

Onboard the MOBILE at least one data transmission system must be in use.
POSREP.COM® can operate with a GSM transmission system or satellite IMMARSAT Standard A, B, C, M – mini M and ORBCOMM systems.
At specific intervals or upon receiving request from BASE, the mobile sends its position to the POSREP.COM E-mail address (or directly to the BASE’S computer).
The BASE post, equipped with a PC and a modem, with the software POSREP reads the mailbox which contains messages sent from the MOBILE (identification, LAT, LONG, course, speed, time) and saves them in a powerful and fully searchable Data Base.
MAXSEA then displays the positions and the courses on digital cartography covering (in detail wherever needed) all the world's seas.

WHAT IS NEEDED ASHORE (BASE)

Shore base will be equipped with a PC (a common PC with W95/98/NT, even a portable will do!) and a modem for Internet access.
On the BASE PC the receiving and display software MAXSEA® POSREP, which is supplied at the moment of service subscription activation, will be installed.
MAXSEA® by I&M is the leader among navigation software and it’s possible to chose from a wide selection of charts produced by A.R.C.S., MAPMEDIA, MAPTECH and C MAP, all supported by our system.

WHAT IS NEEDED ONBOARD (MOBILE)

The ship (Mobile) must be equipped with a transmission system: in particular a satellite system is necessary for Fleet Following.
